Community Rules

Orbit Event Hub is designed to help people find safe, friendly, and genuine social events. These rules apply to all members, event hosts, attendees, and anyone using the platform.

1. Minimum age

• You must be 18 or over to create an Orbit account.
• You must not create an account on behalf of a child pretending to be that child.
• If an event is suitable for children, the booking, messaging, payment, and event management must be handled by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult aged 18 or over.
• Parents or guardians remain responsible for any child they bring to an event.

2. Child-friendly events

• Event hosts must clearly state whether an event is suitable for children.
• Hosts must not directly message children through Orbit.
• All communication about child attendance must be with the parent, guardian, or responsible adult account holder.
• Children must be supervised by their parent, guardian, or responsible adult unless the event clearly states otherwise and proper safeguarding arrangements are in place.

3. Respectful behaviour

• Be polite, respectful, and honest with other members.
• No harassment, threats, bullying, hate speech, intimidation, stalking, or abusive behaviour.
• No discrimination based on disability, age, sex, race, religion, sexuality, gender identity, appearance, background, or personal circumstances.
• No unwanted sexual comments, pressure, or inappropriate contact.

4. Honest profiles and events

• Use accurate information when creating an account or event.
• Do not impersonate another person, business, charity, venue, or organisation.
• Do not post fake events, misleading event details, scam listings, or events designed to collect personal data unfairly.
• Event hosts must keep event times, location, price, cancellation terms, and access requirements clear and up to date.

5. Safety and personal information

• Do not publicly post private information such as someone else's phone number, address, email, workplace, or personal documents.
• Do not pressure other members to share contact details outside Orbit.
• Meet in safe public places where appropriate, especially when meeting someone for the first time.
• Report suspicious, unsafe, or abusive behaviour to Orbit as soon as possible.

6. Payments, tickets, and bookings

• Only pay through approved Orbit payment methods where available.
• Do not use Orbit to avoid platform fees, mislead users, or collect unauthorised payments.
• Hosts must clearly state any costs, deposits, refunds, and cancellation rules before users book.
• Users are responsible for checking the event details before booking or attending.

7. Prohibited events and content

• No illegal events, illegal goods, illegal services, or activity that encourages law-breaking.
• No sexual services, exploitation, trafficking, or adult content aimed at minors.
• No dangerous, violent, extremist, hateful, or abusive content.
• No spam, pyramid schemes, scams, fake giveaways, or misleading promotions.
• No content that infringes copyright, privacy, or another person's rights.

8. Alcohol, venues, and age-restricted activities

• Hosts must clearly mark events involving alcohol, licensed venues, gambling, or other age-restricted activities.
• Users must comply with venue rules, ID checks, licensing laws, and local laws.
• Under-18s must not be booked onto adult-only or age-restricted events.

9. Accessibility and vulnerable users

• Hosts should be clear about accessibility, mobility access, noise levels, location details, and any support available.
• Do not exploit, pressure, shame, or target vulnerable users.
• Groups for anxiety, loneliness, disability, bereavement, or support must be handled with care, respect, and honesty.

10. Reviews, feedback, and reports

• Reviews and feedback must be honest, fair, and based on genuine experiences.
• Do not use reviews to harass, blackmail, threaten, or unfairly damage another user or host.
• False reports, malicious complaints, or abuse of the reporting system may lead to account restrictions.

11. Account restrictions and removal

Orbit may remove content, cancel events, restrict accounts, suspend users, or permanently ban members where we believe these rules have been broken, where users may be at risk, or where required by law.

12. Emergencies

Orbit is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first.
